Introduced in 1969, the Seiko 6139 is a mechanical automatic chronograph movement, a historic milestone for Seiko as their first chronograph and one of the earliest automatic chronograph movements worldwide.

The 6139 movement features a column-wheel design, prized for its smooth operation and precise timekeeping. Its 17-jewel construction incorporates synthetic gemstones strategically placed to minimize friction and enhance durability. The movement also offers a quick-set day and date function for convenient calendar adjustments.

Operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour, the Seiko 6139 provides a power reserve of approximately 45 hours. Its vertical clutch system allows the chronograph to engage without causing additional wear on the movement, ensuring lasting reliability.
