Lanco (short for Langendorf Watch Company) was a Swiss watch brand that was in existence from 1873 to 1969. The company was founded by Albert and Gustave Schwob in the town of Langendorf in the Swiss Jura region. Initially, Lanco produced pocket watches and small clocks, but in the early 20th century, the company expanded its operations to include the production of wristwatches. Lanco watches quickly gained a reputation for their high quality and precision, and the company became one of the leading watchmakers in Switzerland. During World War II, Lanco produced watches for the Allied powers, including the British military. These watches were highly regarded for their accuracy and durability, and they played an important role in the war effort.
