Omega Seamaster, Ref. 196.0078, Cal. 1342, Men’s Quartz Analog Vintage Watch

Sale price€435,00

On this Omega Seamaster watch from 1978, reference 196.0078, vertical brushing sets off black-filled batons and a polished date frame across the silver dial. The men's quartz dress watch uses caliber 1342 inside a 36 mm steel case with short semi-integrated lugs. Its original signed Omega crown accompanies slim black luminous hands and a fine-grained replacement black leather strap.

Brushed silver and contrasting black indications

The silver dial has vertical brushing, applied black-filled baton indices and discreet luminous dots on the outer minute track. Omega Quartz and Seamaster inscriptions remain crisply printed. The date window at 3 has a polished metal frame.

Slim black stick hour and minute hands have luminous inserts. A needle-like central seconds hand completes the display, keeping the time indications distinct from the lighter brushed surface.

Rounded steel case and original crown

The stainless steel case has brushed upper surfaces and a polished bezel. Its rounded profile and short semi-integrated lugs keep the 36 mm head compact, with a screw-in caseback closing the construction.

The original Omega-signed crown is small and polished, following the slim case outline. The black leather strap has fine grain and is a replacement for the original bracelet, adding a darker attachment beside the steel head.

Quartz caliber 1342 and service

The quartz watch uses Swiss-made Omega 1342, a movement from the late 1970s with a nominal oscillator frequency of 32 kHz. It supplies the time display and date function. The watch has been fully serviced, with a fresh battery and seals.

Omega's late-1970s Seamaster production extended the range into slim quartz dress models while retaining restrained Swiss design. Reference 196.0078 expresses that transition through its brushed dial, compact rounded case and practical calendar display.

The watch is used and in excellent vintage condition, with a well-preserved dial and sharp case profile. Its original case, dial, hands and signed crown are retained with the replacement strap fitted. It is fully serviced and fully operational, with a 12-month warranty. Worldwide shipping is available.
