Angelus Datalarm, Ref. 10/11B, Cal. AS 1568N, Men’s Watch, 1958

Two signed crowns distinguish this 1958 Angelus Datalarm Ref. 10/11B, a mechanical alarm watch with a framed date at 3 o’clock. Its silver-champagne dial has warm patina, gold-tone markers and a separate alarm-setting hand. The 35 mm gold-plated case contains the AS 1568N hand-wound movement and is fitted with a new glossy black textured leather strap.

Applied gold-tone hour markers surround fine printed minute divisions. Angelus, Datalarm and 17 Jewels appear on the dial, whose aged surface retains small marks and fine age lines. A frame defines the date aperture at 3 o’clock.

Gold-tone hour and minute hands have colored luminous-style inserts. A central seconds hand and a dedicated alarm-setting hand complete the display, keeping the alarm indication distinct from ordinary time reading.

Gold-Plated Case and Twin Signed Crowns

The round case has strong lugs, a polished bezel and a domed crystal. It measures 35 mm across and 43 mm lug to lug, with 18 mm between the lugs. Light wear remains on the gold-plated exterior.

Both crowns carry the Angelus signature. The crown at 4 o’clock winds the watch and sets the time. The crown at 2 o’clock winds and sets the alarm and engages or disengages it.

Setting the Alarm and Date

The alarm time is set by moving its setting hand counterclockwise. Clockwise movement does not advance the alarm through the same setting system. Date correction uses the traditional method of moving the hands between 21:30 and 24:00.

The Swiss AS 1568N manual-wind caliber has 17 jewels and runs at 18,000 beats per hour, or 2.5 Hz. It combines timekeeping, date and a mechanical alarm, giving this 1950s wristwatch an audible reminder as well as a calendar display.

New Leather and Serviced Condition

The new black leather strap has a glossy textured surface and an adjustable fit. Its 18 mm width follows the lugs, while the dark finish contrasts with the warm case and dial. It is a replacement strap.
