Dugena Chronograph Cal. 7733, 1972

This 1972 Dugena chronograph pairs a pale beige dial with two matching light subdials, dark scales and a round stainless steel case. The hand-wound Valjoux 7733 provides separate elapsed-time recording alongside ordinary timekeeping. A brown leather strap with pale stitches gives the watch a quieter presentation than its densely graduated dial might initially suggest.

Light bicompax dial and black scales

The main dial and recessed registers share a light beige tone, with concentric texture inside the subdials. Dark minute and chronograph scales provide the contrast. The outer tachymeter is marked BASE 1000, and a fine seconds track runs inside it.

The running-seconds register is at 9, with the chronograph-minute counter at 3. The latter is graduated to 30 minutes. A fine pale central chronograph seconds hand extends toward the outer scale, while the hour and minute hands have dark filled centers.

The script Dugena signature sits below 12. The lower dial reads 17 JEWELS and INCABLOC. Simple rectangular hour marks carry aged green-grey luminous material; neither its present glow nor an original luminosity specification is established. Light spotting remains visible on the dial.

A round case with separate pushers

The case is circular, with a narrow polished bezel and straight projecting lugs. A raised crystal sits above the dial. The fluted winding crown is flanked by two cylindrical chronograph pushers on the right side.

Fine scratches and handling marks remain on the case and back. The back carries stainless-steel and resistance-related markings, which do not provide a present water-resistance guarantee.

Valjoux 7733 mechanical chronograph

The Valjoux 7733 is a manually wound 17-jewel chronograph movement. The open movement view shows its winding wheels, bridges, jewels and chronograph levers. It is fully serviced and the watch includes a 12-month warranty.

Chronographs of this type combine the regular winding routine of hand-wound watches with separate elapsed-time controls. This Dugena's two-register layout keeps running seconds and recorded minutes distinct, with central chronograph seconds read against the main scale.

Brown leather and a restrained period appearance

The brown leather strap is solid rather than perforated, with pale contrasting stitches close to the lugs. It suits the warm dial and polished case without adding another strong color to the display.

The round case and matching light registers represent the restrained side of early-1970s vintage watches. Its character comes from the detailed scales, small recessed counters and manually wound mechanism, with the visible aging left intact.
