Herma, Cal. FE 233-60, Men’s Manual Wind Vintage Watch, 1962

Even-numbered gold-tone Arabic numerals stand out on the beige sunburst dial of this 1962 Herma. Long slender lugs extend its warm gold-plated case, while dauphine-style hands and small seconds give the display a traditional layout. The 34 mm men’s watch uses the French FE 233-60 hand-wound movement and is fitted with a new smooth black leather strap.

Beige Sunburst and Applied Numerals

Applied gold-tone numerals at 12, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 alternate with slim baton markers. Small luminous dots and a fine outer minute track add detail around the beige radial finish. Light natural patina remains visible.

Herma is signed below 12, with INCABLOC beneath the name and ANCRE 15 RUBIS above the small-seconds subdial. Gold-tone dauphine-style hour and minute hands have luminous central fill, their faceted shape following the angular applied numerals. A matching gold-tone seconds hand occupies the register at 6 o’clock.

Long Lugs and Gold-Plated Surfaces

The case has long slender lugs and a polished bezel, measuring 34 mm across and 42 mm lug to lug. The strap connection is 18 mm. Light signs of age and use remain on the case, which presents well overall.

The back is marked Stainless Steel Back, Antimagnetic and Waterprotected. These period inscriptions do not establish current water resistance. The original unsigned crown at 3 o’clock has a fluted gold-tone finish and a grip for winding and setting.

French FE 233-60 Movement

The FE 233-60 is a French manual-wind movement with 15 jewels and subsidiary seconds. Winding through the crown supplies its mechanical time display.

The new black leather strap has a smooth surface, stitched edges and an adjustable fit. It is a replacement accessory, separate from the original watch components.
