Huguenin, Cal. AS 1203, Men’s Manual Wind Vintage Watch, 1956

Sculpted fancy lugs give this Swiss Huguenin from 1956 a distinctive outline around its warm silver dial. Arrowhead and baton markers, darker dauphine hands and small seconds form a compact mid-century display. The 33 mm stainless-steel case houses an AS 1203 hand-wound movement, while a new black leather strap keeps the shaped lugs clearly visible.

Warm Silver Dial and Dauphine Hands

The silver surface has a champagne warmth, with visible patina particularly across the central field. Applied arrowhead and baton hour markers are accompanied by small dark dot accents and an outer minute track. Huguenin appears beneath 12 and Swiss Made at the lower edge.

Darker dauphine hour and minute hands contrast with the dial. A small-seconds register at 6 o’clock separates the seconds display from the central hands, maintaining the balanced layout without concealing the dial’s aged surface.

Stainless Steel with Fancy Lugs

The compact round case measures 33 mm across and 41 mm lug to lug, with an 18 mm strap connection. Its sculpted lugs extend the outline beyond the round body. The polished surfaces have normal vintage marks, while the case shape remains well defined.

A fluted crown at 3 o’clock provides a grip for winding and setting. The caseback carries Stainless Steel, Antimagnetic, Shock Absorber and Waterproof inscriptions. These are historical case markings and do not establish present-day water resistance.

AS 1203 and Huguenin’s Swiss Background

The AS 1203 manual-wind movement is marked 17 jewels and Swiss Made. It powers the hour and minute display with subsidiary seconds. Huguenin’s roots in Le Locle connect the name with Swiss metalwork and watchmaking.

Replacement Strap and Present Condition

The new black leather strap has an adjustable fit and an 18 mm width. It is a replacement accessory. The original watch components are retained, with the dial patina and normal exterior wear preserved.
