Mido Multifort Limited, Men’s Vintage Military Watch, 1940

The original black dial and unpolished steel case distinguish this Swiss Mido Multifort Limited from 1940. Its military-style display places a red inner 13–24-hour scale inside luminous Arabic numerals, with small seconds at 6 o’clock. Measuring 29 mm across, this compact men’s watch uses a signed 15-jewel Mido hand-wound movement and comes on a new black leather strap.

Original Black Dial with Red Inner Scale

The primary 12-hour display uses aged luminous Arabic numerals against black, with a red inner scale for hours 13 through 24. A warm-toned minute track surrounds the dial. The Mido Multifort signature and small-seconds register at 6 o’clock complete its instrument-like layout.

Patina, aged luminous material and tonal variation remain visible on the original surface. Broad luminous sword-shaped hour and minute hands match its aged appearance, with the minute hand reaching toward the outer track. A fine subsidiary seconds hand supplies the separate seconds indication.

Never-Polished Stainless-Steel Case

The case has never been polished. Its angular lugs, edges and original surface texture remain preserved. It measures 29 mm across and 35 mm lug to lug, with a 16 mm strap connection, giving it compact proportions suited to the small dial.

A fluted crown sits at 3 o’clock. The caseback is marked Mido Limited Switzerland, Rustless Steel and Brit. Pat. 385509.

Signed Mido Movement

The Mido manual-wind movement has 15 jewels and is adjusted in three positions. Its signed bridge, jewel settings and movement finishing remain visible.

Serviced Originality and New Leather

The new black leather strap has an adjustable fit and a 16 mm width. It is a replacement strap, separate from the watch’s retained original components.
