Omega De Ville, Ref. 166.033, Cal. 565, Men’s Dress Vintage Watch, 1968
Black onyx inlays and uniform hand patina distinguish the champagne dial of this Omega De Ville watch from 1968, reference 166.033. Its 35 mm gold-plated head combines a straight-brushed dial, framed date at 3 and a polished bezel with sharp-edged lugs. Automatic caliber 565, an original logo acrylic crystal and a signed crown accompany a brown replacement leather strap.
Champagne brushing, onyx inlays and hand patina
The champagne dial has a straight-brushed finish that responds subtly to light. Applied gold baton markers contain black onyx inlays, with luminous dots at their outer edges. A discreet minute track follows the perimeter, and the date aperture at 3 has a defined frame.
The original gold baton hour and minute hands have matching black inlays. A slender central seconds hand completes the display. All the hands retain a uniform patina, an age-related feature that remains part of this example’s presentation.
Slim plated head and original signed controls
The 35 mm gold-plated case has a slim profile and polished bezel. The lugs retain sharp edges, preserving the defined outline around the champagne dial. The original acrylic crystal carries the Omega logo.
The original Omega-signed crown sits at 3, with precise knurling for grip during manual winding and quick date setting. It remains proportionate to the slim case.
A brown aftermarket leather strap fits the 18 mm lugs and complements the plated head. The strap is a replacement.
Automatic caliber 565 with quickset date
This automatic mechanical watch uses Swiss-made Omega caliber 565, with manual winding and a quickset date. It has 24 jewels and a nominal frequency of 19,800 vibrations per hour. The date function adds everyday practicality without disrupting the restrained dial layout.
The De Ville range became independent of the Seamaster line in 1967. This 1968 reference combines the city-oriented character of dress watches with a compact automatic case, a framed calendar and narrow baton furniture.
The watch is used, fully serviced and fully operational, currently running accurately and in excellent working condition. Its original watch head components, including the patinated hands, signed crown and logo acrylic, are retained. It comes with a 12-month warranty, and worldwide shipping is available.
