Omega Geneve, Ref. 135.041, Cal. 601, Men’s Manual Wind Vintage Watch, 1969

A clean unpolished tonneau case and original black hands define this 1969 Omega Genève, reference 135.041. Its 34.5 mm steel head spans 40.5 mm from lug to lug, with short lugs and a wide opening framing the silver sunburst dial. Intact tritium dots, crisp signatures, an original signed crown and logo crystal accompany hand-wound caliber 601 and black replacement leather.

Unpolished tonneau geometry

The stainless-steel case is brushed on the front, with sharp, well-defined edges retaining its factory geometry. Its tonneau outline, short lugs and wide dial opening give it more visual presence than the 34.5 mm size alone suggests. The overall lug-to-lug span is 40.5 mm.

The original Omega-signed crown is proportioned for manual winding and operates smoothly for daily winding and time setting. The original crystal carries the Omega logo. A black leather strap is a later replacement and fits the 18 mm lugs, allowing an adjustable wrist fit.

Silver sunburst and original black hands

The silver dial has a fine radial sunburst finish and slim black baton hour markers. The Omega logo and Genève script remain crisp, with intact tritium dots preserving the original period details. The original dial's restrained silver-and-black arrangement remains clear.

The original black baton hour and minute hands are in excellent condition. A needle-thin central seconds hand completes the handset, also well preserved. The matching dark furniture gives the lighter sunburst surface an uncluttered, legible frame.

Hand-wound caliber 601

This hand-wound watch uses Swiss Omega caliber 601, with 17 jewels and a nominal frequency of 19,800 vibrations per hour. It belongs to Omega's 600-series family, with a slim construction suited to serviceability. The watch has been fully serviced and is fully operational, currently keeping excellent time.

Genève watches from the late 1960s combined clean modernist styling with practical mechanics, while their name recalled Geneva's watchmaking tradition. Reference 135.041's tonneau outline reflects the transition from traditional round cases for dress watches towards the more experimental 1970s forms.
