Black tachymeter dial and aged tritium

Meca-quartz and the IWC collaboration

The quartz watch's meca-quartz movement combines quartz-regulated timekeeping with a mechanical chronograph module. This hybrid arrangement provides electronic time regulation alongside the mechanical action of the chronograph controls.

Porsche Design and IWC collaborated through the 1980s and 1990s on titanium chronographs with industrial, Bauhaus-influenced aesthetics.
