Pryngeps 100M, Ref. 2491.W.10, Cal. ETA 2789, Diving Vintage Watch

The blue sunburst dial and faded red-and-black bezel distinguish this Pryngeps 100M watch from 1972, reference 2491.W.10. The men's diving watch combines a 37 mm stainless steel case with curved, twisted lugs and a tall acrylic crystal. Swiss automatic caliber ETA 2789 drives its Spanish day-date display, and a replacement black NATO strap completes the current configuration.

Sunburst blue and matching aged lume

The sunburst finish changes with the angle of the light. Polished rectangular hour markers have tritium dots, and a fine minute track surrounds the blue dial. The framed day-date window at 3 includes a Spanish day display.

Wide baton hour and minute hands carry luminous filling, with a luminous block on the slim central seconds hand. The hand and dial lume show matching ageing, and the dial remains well preserved.

Faded 24-hour bezel and steel skin-diver case

The bidirectional bezel has a 24-hour scale divided into red and black, with natural fading across its red upper half. It supplies a GMT-style reference around the main time display. That scale does not establish an independent GMT hand or additional movement complication.

The stainless steel skin-diver case has twisted, curved lugs, brushed upper surfaces and polished flanks. Its slim profile and light weight moderate the wrist presence of the bezel. The tall, domed acrylic crystal has light surface marks that can be polished and introduces distortion at an angle.

A large, unsigned coin-edge crown at 3 provides time and date setting. The black NATO strap is a later replacement. The crown, dial and bezel appear original to the watch.

ETA 2789 and 100M design

The automatic watch uses Swiss ETA 2789, a movement operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour with quick-set date, hacking seconds and Incabloc shock protection. Stopping the seconds hand during setting permits synchronization, while quick date correction makes calendar adjustment more direct.

Pryngeps is an Italian brand, and this Swiss-made diver combines its 100M design with Swiss automatic engineering. Its rotating bezel, luminous indications and shaped steel case express the practical construction of diving watches from the 1970s. The original model's 100-metre rating is a historical specification; current water resistance is unconfirmed.
