Raketa Men’s Dress Vintage Watch, 1988
A yellow-gold sunburst dial and a white minute scale give this Raketa watch from 1988 a warm but clearly marked face. The 38 mm round gold-plated case has a polished finish, smooth lugs and a slim middle section beneath an acrylic crystal. A brown leather strap with an embossed alligator pattern and tang buckle accompanies the hand-wound, three-hand display.
Gold tones and five-minute numerals
The fine sunburst finish changes with the light across the dial. Applied gold baton markers sit inside a contrasting white minute track with five-minute numerals, and the script Raketa logo is beneath 12. There is no date aperture, preserving the balance of the hour layout.
Slender baton hour and minute hands echo the applied markers, while a fine central seconds hand reaches across the display. The broad minute scale gives the hands a clear reading reference around the warmer dial centre.
Polished round case and patterned leather
The round head is fully polished and finished in gold plating, with smooth, flowing lugs and well-defined case lines. Its 38 mm across dimension gives the dress watch a relatively broad face while the slim mid-case keeps the side profile restrained.
The acrylic crystal contributes gentle distortion at the edge of the dial. A small fluted crown at 3 is unsigned and uses a push-pull arrangement, providing grip for daily winding without becoming a prominent element of the head.
The brown leather strap has an embossed alligator pattern and a smooth taper toward its classic tang buckle. Its texture contrasts with the polished plating while remaining tonally close to the dial.
Petrodvorets mechanical continuity
The manual-wind watch uses a Raketa movement from the Petrodvorets Watch Factory. Following servicing, it winds smoothly, sets cleanly and holds stable amplitude.
During the late Cold War period, Raketa continued producing mechanical dress models for domestic and export markets. Their clear typography and bold minute scales are reflected here in the 1988 dial, with the plated round case continuing its warm colour palette.
This used watch retains its original watch components and coherent period dial, hands and case details, with the current leather strap fitted. It is fully serviced and fully operational, and comes with a 12-month warranty.
