Rigi 2300-EC, Cal. AS 1950/51, Men’s Manual Wind

A vivid orange minute track gives this 1973 Rigi 2300-EC an immediately recognizable contrast against its black dial. Applied silver-tone markers and broad pale-insert hands surround a framed date display. The hand-wound AS 1950/51 movement sits in a short, broad case measuring 35 mm across and 35 mm lug to lug, paired with a new black leather strap.

Black Dial and Orange Chapter Ring

Fine dark minute divisions run around the saturated orange perimeter, with small luminous-style circular accents near the hour markers. Applied silver-tone rectangular markers stand out from the black center. RIGI and 17 JEWELS sit beneath 12, while INCABLOC and 2300-EC appear in the lower half. SWISS MADE marks the dial’s origin.

A bright rectangular frame surrounds the date aperture at 3 o’clock. Broad hour and minute hands have pale inserts for contrast, accompanied by a slender central seconds hand reaching toward the outer scale. The dial remains clearly legible, and the orange track retains its strong color.

Short Brushed Case and New Leather Strap

The broad angular case has a vertically brushed upper surface and polished side areas that reflect light along the edges. Its round dial opening sits within the wider geometric body, giving the watch a sportier profile than a conventional round dress case. Light surface marks remain visible. The exterior is silver-tone; its exact material is not confirmed.

Both the case diameter and lug-to-lug length measure 35 mm, with a 20 mm strap connection. A compact ridged crown at 3 o’clock provides a grip for manual winding and setting. No clearly legible crown signature is visible.

The new black leather strap has bright red stitching along both edges and an adjustable fit. Its 20 mm width balances the broad case, while the red stitching adds a warm accent alongside the orange dial track. It is a replacement strap, separate from the original watch components.

The Swiss A. Schild AS 1950/51 manual-wind caliber has 17 jewels, operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour and has an approximate 46-hour power reserve. It powers the central time display and date, with Incabloc shock protection matching the dial marking.

The watch is fully serviced and fully operational, with its original watch components retained. It is supplied with a 12-month warranty and no box or papers.
