Rius Men’s Manual Wind Vintage Watch

A red seconds hand gives this 1950 Rius a sharp accent against its speckled silver-to-off-white dial. Applied Arabic numerals, aged luminous markers and Incabloc lettering combine the proportions of a vintage dress watch with a utilitarian display. The 34 mm hand-wound Swiss watch retains its original watch-head components and is fitted with a new black leather strap.

Patina, luminous details and red seconds

Natural speckling, small marks and age-related patina cover the dial. Applied numerals at 12 and 6 establish a vertical axis, while luminous dots and small triangular markers fill the remaining positions. Fine outer minute divisions and the lower Swiss signature remain visible. Rius and Waterproof appear below 12, with 17 Jewels and Incabloc lower down.

The hour and minute hands carry aged luminous material that matches the markers; the red central seconds hand provides the strongest color contrast. The luminous details have visibly aged and are not presented as offering modern brightness. Likewise, the period Waterproof lettering is not a current water-resistance guarantee.

Angular lugs and a worn plated finish

The bright plated case has a simple polished bezel and angular lugs, measuring 43 mm from lug to lug and 18 mm between them. Scratches, plating wear and age marks are visible around the lugs, bezel edge and sides. The angular outlines remain visible despite this surface wear.

An unsigned ridged crown at 3 o’clock is used for winding and setting. The new adjustable black leather strap contrasts with the pale dial and keeps the red seconds hand prominent. It is a replacement accessory, separate from the original watch-head components.

The manual-wind movement uses 17 jewels and Incabloc shock protection. The watch has been fully serviced and is fully operational. Box and papers are not included. It comes with a 12-month warranty, with worldwide shipping from Vintage Watch Studio.
