Roamer Vanguard, Ref. 801.2120.313, Cal. MST 801, 1978

Sale price€280,00

Applied silver-tone Arabic numerals stand out against the matte dark blue dial of the Roamer Vanguard watch from 1978, reference 801.2120.313. Its cushion-shaped steel case pairs brushed surfaces with polished sides, while a light brown replacement leather strap adds black stitched accents. The 36 mm head houses Roamer's in-house hand-wound MST 801 movement.

Blue Arabic-numeral dial

An applied silver-tone Arabic numeral marks every hour. The white printed chapter ring carries minute and seconds divisions around the matte blue surface. A red Roamer logo at 12 balances the Vanguard signature at 6.

Silver baton hour and minute hands contain aged luminous inserts, preserving a visible detail of the watch's condition. A central sweep seconds hand completes the display.

Cushion steel with a later leather strap

The stainless steel case measures 42 mm lug to lug and has an 18 mm lug width. Brushed surfaces emphasize its cushion geometry, with polished sides bringing a contrasting reflection. Those finishes give the dress watch a defined outline around the dark dial.

The low-profile crown at 3 is a simple, unsigned stainless steel unit. It provides manual winding and time setting. Its unsigned surface does not establish that it is a replacement.

The light brown aftermarket leather strap has black stitched accents. Its warmer colour gives the blue-and-steel head a more relaxed appearance, while remaining a disclosed replacement rather than part of the original watch components.

Roamer's MST 801

The manual-wind watch uses Roamer's in-house MST 801, with 17 jewels and shock protection.

The Vanguard reflects Roamer's late-1970s approach to practical Swiss dress models: cushion cases, readable Arabic numerals and its own mechanical calibers. This example expresses that approach through the blue dial and restrained steel finishing.

The watch is used, fully serviced and fully operational. Its original watch components are retained, with the later leather strap disclosed. It comes with a 12-month warranty, and worldwide shipping is available.
