Seawatch Diver, Men’s Diving Vintage Watch, 1975
The Seawatch Diver watch from 1975 has a broad 51 mm chrome-plated case with a hexagonal outline, a black rotating bezel and a matte black dial. Red date numerals and a red lollipop detail on the seconds hand add colour to the white display furniture. It is fitted with a later black-and-grey NATO strap and uses a Swiss hand-wound 23-jewel movement.
Matte black dial and period markings
White hour and minute markings stand against the matte black background. The date window at 3 displays red numerals, while “SEAWATCH 23 JEWELS” identifies the dial's brand and movement inscription.
The broad hour hand contains white luminous material. A long minute hand and a seconds hand with a red lollipop detail give each pointer a different outline, helping separate the indications across the large face.
The dial also carries “WATERPROOF 60 m 200 ft TESTED SWISS MADE”. These are period markings, preserving the original water-resistance claim and Swiss-made identification. They do not constitute a current pressure-test result or a present-day guarantee for water use.
Hexagonal case and replacement NATO strap
The chrome-plated metal case has sharp edges and a pronounced hexagonal form. Its 51 mm diameter gives the diving watch substantial width on the wrist. Chrome plating provides the surface finish of the metal case.
The rotating black bezel has white markers. An unsigned crown at 3 is recessed into the case and is not of the screw-down type. The black-and-grey Bond-style NATO strap is a replacement, with steel rings completing its attachment.
Hand-wound movement and Seawatch background
The manual-wind watch uses a Swiss mechanical movement with 23 jewels.
Seawatch was part of Bermi Watch SA in Morbio Inferiore, Switzerland, and produced accessible Swiss watches during the 1960s and 1970s. This Diver's oversized, angular case and rotating bezel reflect the company's bold sporting designs from that period.
The watch is used but well preserved, with visible wear on its chrome-plated case. The dial and hands are original, while the NATO strap is later. It is fully serviced and fully operational, with a 12-month warranty and worldwide shipping.
