The matte black face of this Seiko 5 watch from 1984, reference 6309-8800, is set against a fully mirror-polished steel case. The day-date window at 3 shows black text on a white background. All three hands are bright white, including the seconds hand. The minute hand reaches the minute track, while the smooth seconds sweep retains the watch’s documented mechanical display.

Round polished head and two-finish bracelet

The round stainless steel case measures 36 mm across and 42 mm from lug to lug. Comprehensive mirror polishing gives it a bright surround, contrasting with the dial’s non-reflective surface.

The original integrated steel bracelet combines brushed centre links and polished outer links. A Seiko-branded fold-over clasp provides a secure closure, with sizing adjustments available through the bracelet construction.

Automatic 6309 and independent calendar adjustment
