Dark Blue Dial with Gold-Tone Diving Markers

The dark blue dial uses a finely textured surface framed by large luminous hour markers outlined in gold tone. Their rounded and geometric shapes make the display immediately legible, while the oversized luminous hour hand, long minute hand and contrasting central seconds hand reinforce the functional diving-watch layout. A framed date aperture sits at 3 o’clock, with SEIKO above the center and SCUBA 200M printed below.

The combination of blue, steel and gold gives this example a distinctly early-1990s appearance without obscuring its tool-watch origins. The dial remains clean and clearly legible, while the luminous material shows the natural aging expected on a watch of this period. The gold-tone printing and marker surrounds visually connect the dial to the crown, bezel accents and bracelet detailing.

Compact 35 mm Scuba Case with Rotating 200M Diver Bezel

The stainless-steel case measures approximately 35 mm in diameter and 42 mm lug to lug, but the broad rotating bezel makes the watch look and wear larger than those dimensions imply. Raised gold-tone bezel numerals at 10-minute intervals alternate with steel sections and minute dots, creating a highly distinctive two-tone timing scale. The large ridged crown continues the same gold-tone treatment and is positioned conventionally at 3 o’clock.

The bezel and case show visible evidence of normal use, including surface marks and wear to portions of the plated detailing, consistent with an original sports watch that has been worn rather than cosmetically rebuilt. When new, Ref. 7N35-6020 carried a 200-metre water-resistance specification and was designed as a genuine Seiko diving watch with a rotating elapsed-time bezel and screw-down crown. That original rating is historical and should not be interpreted as a guarantee of present-day water resistance without a current pressure test. Original Two-Tone Seiko Bracelet

This example retains its original signed Seiko bracelet, Ref. QB55A-I, an important part of the watch’s factory appearance. Brushed stainless-steel outer links are crossed by narrow gold-tone elements through the center, repeating the same visual language used on the bezel, crown and dial furniture. The bracelet remains proportionate to the compact case and gives the watch a much more complete early-1990s appearance than an aftermarket strap would.

The watch retains its original components, including the case, dark blue dial, hands, crown, bezel and bracelet. That completeness is particularly valuable on a vintage sports watch, where bracelets and external parts are often replaced after decades of wear.

Seiko Cal. 7N35 Quartz — Practical Early-1990s Sports-Watch Engineering

Inside is Seiko Cal. 7N35, an analogue quartz movement developed for dependable everyday and sports-watch use. It uses a 32,768 Hz quartz oscillator and provides hours, minutes, central seconds and a quick-set date display, together with hacking seconds for precise time setting. The movement reflects Seiko’s mature quartz engineering of the period: compact, accurate and designed around low-maintenance operation.

Produced in August 1992, this Ref. 7N35-6020 belongs to the early years of Seiko’s 7N35-powered 200-metre sports watches. Its compact dimensions, distinctive two-tone construction, original bracelet and dark blue dial make it a particularly characteristic survivor from a period when Seiko was producing purpose-built quartz divers alongside its developing self-generating technologies.
