Seiko SUS AGS 5M22-6C30
A teal sunburst dial and bold luminous geometry give this Seiko SUS AGS watch from 1994, reference 5M22-6C30, its field-inspired appearance. The brushed 37 mm steel case contains Kinetic caliber 5M22, which turns wrist motion into electrical energy. A canvas strap with leather backing complements the short-lug case and practical calendar.
Teal sunburst and contrasting luminous hands
Fine radial grain animates the teal surface. Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9 combine with applied luminous triangles, rectangular plots and a crisp minute track. SEIKO AGS printing sits beneath 12, with a depth designation above 6 and a date window at about 4:30.
The hour hand has a syringe-like form with segmented lume, paired with a long luminous minute hand and slim white seconds hand. The contrasting shapes keep the calendar and numeral layout clear.
Brushed barrel case and charge-check pusher
The rounded barrel case has uniform stainless steel brushing, a fixed bezel and short lugs. It measures 37 mm across and 42 mm from lug to lug, with an 18 mm fitting. The canvas strap has leather backing and a practical, understated texture.
A large vertically fluted crown at 3 provides grip for setting. The recessed pusher at 2 operates the charge-check feature. The screw back retains sharp reference and 10-bar markings; the latter records the original rating, without a guarantee of present water resistance.
Kinetic 5M22: motion converted to electricity
Seiko’s Automatic Generating System converts wrist movement into electrical energy stored in a capacitor. Caliber 5M22 uses a 32,768 Hz quartz oscillator to regulate the display, with central seconds, quick-set date, hacking and charge checking. This is electrically regulated timekeeping powered by motion, rather than a conventional automatic mechanical movement.
SUS stands for Simple, Utility, Serviceable. The SUS line’s 1990s watches combined self-charging AGS technology, later named Kinetic, with clear everyday dial designs. The teal dial, luminous geometry and compact brushed case show that functional approach.
Light wear and confirmed charging
The used men’s watch is very well preserved, with only light wear to the brushed steel. Its dial is clean, with strong lume and crisp printing, and the screw-back engravings remain sharp. The crown and pusher work correctly.
The watch is fully serviced and fully operational, with healthy charging, clean contacts and correct calendar indexing confirmed. Original watch-head components are retained; the canvas strap’s originality is not established. A 12-month warranty is included, with worldwide shipping available.
