Deep blue vertical brushing and an angular tonneau case define this 1978 Zenith Surf, reference 01.1531.360. Its no-date dial has framed baton markers, a signed original crown and a slender central seconds hand. Hand-wound Zenith caliber 2572 powers the watch, which is fitted with a new brown handmade Kuki strap.

Blue brushed dial without a date

The rich blue surface has a fine satin-like vertical grain. Applied baton markers have dark framing, with discreet luminous plots near their outer ends. A printed minute track follows the perimeter, while the applied Zenith emblem and balanced typography keep the identity clear.

Steel baton hour and minute hands follow the marker geometry. A slender central seconds hand stands against the blue background. With no date window interrupting the dial, the grain, framed markers and brand signature remain its principal features.

Faceted tonneau case and signed crown

Broad brushed steel surfaces meet a polished bezel ring, giving the angular case a distinct boundary around the dial. The long lug lines and faceted outline show the geometric character of 1970s vintage watches.

The case measures 35 mm across and 41 mm from lug to lug, with an 18 mm strap fitting. The original Zenith-signed crown has a knurled grip. This retained component signature is a useful identification detail among vintage Zenith watches.

The new handmade brown Kuki leather strap is reference BOS0209L. Its visible grain and stitching add texture beside the cool blue dial. The strap is a replacement, while the watch head retains its original components.

Hand-wound caliber 2572 and condition

Zenith caliber 2572 provides Swiss hand-wound mechanical operation, powering the hours, minutes and central seconds. Winding through the crown is part of the regular handling of manual-wind vintage watches.
