Delbana, Cal. AS 1951, Men’s Manual Wind Vintage Watch
A silver sunburst dial with gold-tone numerals gives this 1965 Delbana a warm contrast within its sharply faceted round case. The framed date at 3 o’clock adds a practical detail to the otherwise restrained display. Measuring 34 mm across, the watch uses the A. Schild AS 1950/51 hand-wound caliber and comes on a new black leather strap with blue edge stitching.
Sunburst Silver and Gold-Tone Details
The radial finish changes the appearance of the silver dial as light moves across it. Applied gold-tone batons alternate with Arabic numerals at 12, 9 and 6, with the Delbana name and castle-style emblem beneath 12. The lower half carries 17 JEWELS and INCABLOC, while T SWISS MADE T appears at the edge.
A dark double-line frame outlines the date window. The hour and minute hands have luminous inlays, accompanied by a fine central seconds hand. These details keep the time and calendar displays distinct without crowding the dial.
Faceted Lugs and Blue-Stitched Leather
The silver-tone case has a narrow polished bezel and straight, angular lugs with faceted surfaces. It measures 40 mm lug to lug, with a 16 mm strap connection. Light surface marks remain visible on the exterior.
A generously sized ridged crown sits at 3 o’clock. Its pronounced grip suits the winding routine, and no clearly legible signature is visible.
The new black leather strap has blue stitching along its edges and an adjustable fit. The stitching adds a small color accent to the silver-and-gold display. This is a replacement strap, described separately from the watch’s original components.
